Rick Tempchin joined EEI in 1987 and is proficient in nearly every arena of retail energy services, including customer service, operations and marketing, consumer affairs, large commercial and industrial customer outreach, rate making and rate design, state regulatory advocacy, federal affairs, electric transportation, energy storage, building codes, appliance standards, demand response, efficiency, smart grid, distributed generation, technology commercialization and supplier diversity.
Prior to joining EEI, Mr. Tempchin served as a senior utility analyst for Synergic Resources Corporation and also as a research analyst at the United States Department of Energy.
Mr. Tempchin is a founding board member of the Association of Energy Services Professionals and a board alternate and member of the strategic planning and policy board committees of the Alliance to Save Energy, as well as a board alternate for the Electric Drive Transportation Association in Washington.
Mr. Tempchin He has a B.S. in marketing from the University of Maryland and an M.B.A. in energy management from the University of Denver.
