Donald Karner co-founded Electric Transportation Engineering Corporation and he serves as chief executive officer and president of ECOtality North America. He also served as president and chief executive officer of Electric Transportation Engineering Corporation.
Mr. Karner serves as technical manager of the U.S. Department of Energy Advanced Vehicle Testing Activity and has directed more than 6 million miles of vehicle testing and evaluated more than two hundred advanced fuel vehicles.
Mr. Karner served as chief nuclear officer for Arizona Public Service Company during the construction and commissioning of the 3800 MWe Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station. During this period, he directed a staff of 3,000 and interfaced with and provided testimony for the multiple plant owners, the NRC, various State regulatory commissions and the financial community regarding plant matters.
Mr. Karner has thirty years of engineering and technical project management experience. Fifteen years of this experience was in the electric utility industry where he developed and implemented strategic direction for engineering, operating and maintenance organizations ranging in size from ten to three thousand people in nuclear, fossil, environmental and rate-making arenas.
Mr. Karner has been a director of Minit-Charger since November 7, 2007. He served as a director of Ecotality Inc. from November 7, 2007 to 2009.
Mr. Karner is a graduate of the Public Utility Executive Program of the University Of Michigan School Of Business. He studied bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Arizona State University and am of Science degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Arizona.
